Bluejuice were crowd favorites at Fotsun 2007 and have to be in Australia's top 3 party bands. The show at Laurieton will be a cracker.. yes it's a Sunday but after you have a cup of concrete you'll harden right up.  The night will finish at 10:30.

Laurieton Hotel and Sand Events have teamed up to bring you one of the most exciting live acts in Australia. Most people will remember bluejuice blistering the stage at Festival of the Sun in 2007, where they were near unknowns… until they played their hit single ‘Vitriol.’

Bluejuice will be supported by local young guns The Pixie Kills. ‘The Pixie Kills are certainly on the rise doing some amazing shows around town. One of the great things Sand Events can offer local acts is the chance to play with some of Australia’s best touring acts when they come through town. There is no better way for young bands to develop but to learn from the pro’s’ says Mesiti.

Announce New Single ‘Broken Leg’
& East Coast Tour

After a year of chasing futile dreams on a Russian salmon farm, bluejuice have returned with a new single, a new album, and a modest bag of salmon.

Already added to triple j rotation, ‘Broken Leg’, the first single from their upcoming sophomore record is blustering bit of anthemic pop – an uptempo ode to being a limping miseryguts. Never before have 80s-themed existential crises inspired such a need to dance or sing so joyously (alright, maybe “Jessie’s Girl”... )
In keeping with their reputation for brilliant clips, the filming of the video for ‘Broken Leg’ saw pulled muscles, purple tracksuits and a masterful exhibition of skip-roping prowess as team bluejuice trained intensively for months in the lead up to their quest for the title of ‘World Skipping Champions’. Introducing Spiridon Savvas (Mr Invisible) and Arthur Pennington (Venom), the hottest skip-ropers on the planet. The full clip hits screens Mon July 20th but catch an exclusive sneak peak at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo42EjPW01o

‘Broken Leg’ was recorded with Brooklyn, NYC producer Chris Shaw, who’s previously worked with Bob Dylan, Public Enemy, Weezer, and Ween. His American accent allowed the band a long-awaited opportunity to pretend they were living in an episode of Full House (the one where John Stamos’ cousin, Stavros, comes to visit) and recording in Sydney finally gave Chris the chance to work 13 hours a day and then order a burrito in another hemisphere. The result of this beautiful marriage is bluejuice’s second album “Head of the Hawk” due for release in September.

bluejuice will be kicking off their ‘Broken Leg’ touring campaign with a late Saturday afternoon berth at the 2009 Splendour in the Grass festival. Then it’s up and down the east coast with a set of new songs before the band launches into the new album September 18th.
